First of all, reading the answers to this question bothers me a lot. There are kids, half my age (NEARLY), saying they'd pick Edward Cullen. GODS, that dude is abusive, obsessive and excessively jealous, and these children would date him? No one, I repeat, no one with a healthy sense of self would date that kind of a person. I feel sorry for you today, humanity. I do.

Now to the characters I'd date. There will be many, lots of whom probably even more abusive, obsessive and jealous than Edward, but that's called hypocrisy, children, and we all do that, and we're allowed to do that.

From Harry Potter books, the following guys:
1. Young Severus Snape. The old would be kind of cool, too. I've written about him at least a billion of times, so I'll just say he's my kind of guy, and that I do believe we'd get along. I'M NOT A DUNDERHEAD!
2. Lucius Malfoy. Young or old, I don't care, but just... damn. I'm glad I'm not against one-night stands, because with this guy that's all I want. A serious relationship with someone like that, no-no, but... Yeah.
3. Sirius Black, even though I kind of feel bad for doing this because, obviously, he's Remus'. BUT I can say this now, right? Right? <strike>He's dead, anyway.</strike> (Of course I could say I'd date Remus, too, but I have a feeling that he'd be more of a friend for me.)
4. Aaaand the younger Malfoy. Draco Malfoy. Just because.

Others:
5. Dr. Hannibal Lecter, the young one, thank you. That kind of a cold intelligence just makes me shiver. An excessively polite man who won't hurt the feelings of another person, even when he's killing him. <strike>Also, Gaspard Ulliel played the young Hannibal in Hannibal Rising = purrrrect looks, too.</strike>
6. John Nash from A Beautiful Mind. Don't say anything about his schizophrenia or anything like that. His pick-up lines would work perfectly on me, and he reminds me of myself sooooo much.
7. MOST OF ALL, MOST OF ALL, MOST OF ALL: Voldemort from A Very Potter Musical. (MY MOODTHEME. CHECK IT. MOOOODTHEME.)

...I'm too tired to write anything about the rest, but here, have a list, and feel free to ask if you can't understand why on Earth I picked the particular character: Aragorn (LOTR), Calvin (Zero Day), V (V for Vendetta), Graverobber (Repo! The Genetic Opera)... and that's pretty much it.

I somewhat do believe in horoscopes and astrology. I don't think they shape our fortunes or anything like that, I merely think they affect our personalities and characteristics. I do read my horoscope at least once a week, but that's it -- I laugh if it fits, and shrug it off if it doesn't.

I am a Capricorn: practical, prudent, ambitious, disciplined, patient, careful, reserved, pessimistic, fatalistic, miserly, grudging.
" - - confident, strong willed and calm. These hardworking, unemotional, shrewd, practical, responsible, persevering, and cautious to the extreme persons, are capable of persisting for as long as is necessary to accomplish a goal they have set for themselves." I am way too unemotional, they say. I drag too much logic into, say, relationships. I tend to rationalize and over-analyze everything.
" - - resourceful, determined managers; setting high standards for themselves and others. They strive always for honesty in their criticism of self, they respect discipline from above and demand it from those beneath them." I am known for my honest remarks, too honest, some say. I try not to lie to myself, and too often it leads to complete self-bashing. I am a perfectionist, and I strongly believe that what is worth doing is worth doing well.
" - - plan carefully to fulfill their ambitions - - " I always have a plan going on. A cunning plan, mind you.
" - - they are not always the most pleasant of work fellows for they are reserved and too conservative, valuing tradition more than innovation, however valuable the latter, and they are often humorless. There is also a tendency to pessimism, melancholy and even unhappiness." Though I am quite innovative and creative, I respect and value tradition a lot, too.
" - - can be surprisingly and suddenly witty and subtle for the quiet, reserved individuals they seem to be, and they also have a tendency to ruin things by unexpected and utterly irresponsible bouts of flippancy." Oh. Yes.
"Their intellects are sometimes very subtle. They think profoundly and deeply, throughly exploring all possibilities before deciding on a 'safe' alternative. They have good memories and an insatiable yet methodical desire for knowledge. They are rational, logical and clearheaded, have good concentration, delight in debate in which they can show off their cleverness by luring their adversaries into traps and confounding them with logic."
" - - somewhat self-centered but not excessively so, wary and cautious around people they do not know very well, preferring not to meddle with others and in turn not to allow interference with themselves, thus they tend to attract people who do not understand them." I do, however, think that I am excessively self-centered. I am introverted, too.
" - - faithful, though inclined to jealousy. Most Capricorns marry for life." I have never cheated in a relationship, but I usually am way too jealous to be happy. I never date for the mere sake of dating. To be with someone - for me, the entire point of that is to be prepared and willing to spend the rest of my life with that person. I am willing to work hard in order to achieve that, but on the other hand, I find it nearly impossible to become something I'm not. That's not the path I'm willing to take. It is an entirely different matter to work hard and to change self.

All my real idols have thus far been Capricorns - Jonathan Davis, Marilyn Manson and J.R.R. Tolkien.
My favorite character in the HP fandom is a Capricorn. I felt a connection to the character even before I knew his sign. (I'm talking about Snape.)
I get along with other Capricorns, better than with other signs.

Once again, I'm going to say Jari. Some of you might know how much I value intelligence, and I believe he's one of the most intelligent men I've ever met. He's a priest, though he says he's too profane to be called a priest. He has fought with all Christian authorities of Finland because he questions too many things about the Bible, like the existence of Satan. He also questions evolution and feminism.

Also, as I've been through some bad shit in high school, his subjects have been the ones to inspire me. When I failed nearly all other subjects, I got A+'s in his subjects. He's a demanding teacher, yet not too much - he's a creative person, and you are never forced to do the exam. You can always write an essay on something you know a lot about.

You know, you're taught to question everything. They just say you should do it, but they never let you do it or give any advice about it. Except Jari. He's really taught me to question things, and I do believe that if it wasn't for him I wouldn't enjoy questioning myself so much.
If it wasn't for him, I'd be a diehard antitheist like I was back when I went to high school. Two years have come and gone and I've learned so much from him.

I need to reveal my shallowness, but before I went to high school my view of Christianity was black and white. The only ones I'd met had been either Laestadians or Sunday Lutherans (meaning, the religion doesn't affect their lives, they just go to church every once in a while and say they're Lutherans) and all the priests I had met had been these fundamentalistic-preaching-holier-than-thou folk, and then there was him.
"O HAI, I AM JARI. I AM A PRIEST. I DON'T BELIEVE IN SATAN. ONCE I MET A GUY WHO HAD FLIES UNDERNEATH HIS FORESKIN. HE GIGGLED AND SAID IT FELT NICE. IF THEY BAN GUNS I'LL NEED A GOD DAMN CANNON TO SHOOT BIGGER RODENTS. SOMETIMES I'D JUST WANT TO HIT A STUDENT WITH AN AXE OR A CHAINSAW. THAT IS, IF THEY'RE STUPID. WHEN THEY'RE STUPID. THIS SONG IS A GREAT SONG TO MAKE LOVE TO, YOU KNOW? WE REALLY SHOULD COMMUNICATE BY FARTING. A MURDER OF OSTRICHES MIGHT FLY INTO YOUR CAR IF YOU BROKE THE WINDSHIELD. WINGS FLAPPING EVERYWHERE. YOU WOULDN'T SEE SHIT, NOW WOULD YOU? LINGONBERRIES TURN ME ON. LIKE, REEEEEALLY. HOW WAS YOUR DAY?"

He's a freak, but he's also my idol, and he's an amazing person, hahahha.

Nuff said.

(And no, contrary to popular belief, I do not fancy him.)

FUCK YES, I'd do it. For example, Big Brother, just to see how an introverted misanthrope like me would interact there. It's not because of the fame, I've had my fair share of Internet fame already and that's all I need, thankyouverymuch, but the experience would be priceless.

As a way of mental growth a reality tv show like Big Brother would be amazing. IF I was to stay there long enough. Alcohol. REALLY. Yeah, it's not healthy and blah blah blah, but one small bottle of mild cider makes the fever and nausea go away. FOR GOOD. At least for me.
Alcohol makes me sweat like a pig, and that's why it's my #1 way to be able to think clear and even get some work done if I'm running a fever. One bottle isn't enough to make me intoxicated, but it's very much enough to clear my fevery head.

Other, healthier ways are rest, rest and rest. And when resting I usually watch nonsense movies, romantic comedies and so forth. And listening to Mendelssohn.

That's pretty much it.

It depends on the decision, but mostly the following: mother, girlfriend, Google, Wikipedia, and, most of all, common sense.

If it's a huge one that has something to do with money, education, work or something I like that, I'll most likely discuss with my mother, and then use the Internet. The website of the Finnish Social Insurance Institution is a goldmine, and that's where I get a lot of help regarding, for example, study grants.

If it's an emotional one, I'll talk with my girlfriend or just contemplate alone.

If it solely has something to do with my education, like, should I take this class or not, I'll most likely contemplate alone and then ask a friend if they'll take the class with me.

This is, if common sense fails me, or if I feel there's a side in the decision I've not thought about enough or do not know about enough.

Because I dislike television I'd rather own a radio station, and it'd obviously be named Sick FM.
The music would be nothing but amazing - rock, metal, electronica and industrial (some bands would be Korn, Marilyn Manson, KMFDM, Combichrist, Deathstars), with a few special programs for some genres, and own programs for international music (for example, folk music from Zimbabwe), demo corner (for bands with no record deals yet), indie/unnown corner (for bands from other countries, and bands that aren't well known) and then, of course, special programs for differnet genres and continents - on Mondays rap, Tuesdays metal, Wednesdays classical, Thursdays reggae, reggaeton and ska, Fridays dance and techno, Saturdays pop and r'n'b, Sundays religious music. The genre programs would last about an hour and they'd start at 9 p.m.
During nights there'd be the entire play list on, and thus it'd be possible to hear first some Gorgoroth, then Mendelssohn and then Bob Marley.

Also, there'd be news and discussions, and listeners could call to the studio and voice their opinions.

I would like to dedicate this post to my philosophy, psychology and religious education teacher, Jari. He is an intelligent man, controversial, pretty opinionated, and while him and I disagree a lot - he's not a homophobe but not very accepting, either, he believes in God, he's a minister (he says he doesn't want to be called a priest because he's too secular) - we also have a lot in common. Basically, the general view of the world and the way we see things, and because of that, and the creativiness of his classes, I always work hard in his subjects. Straigth A's, I'm telling you!
One could call him a total nutcase, but that's just him. And oh, in our high school there are probably three students that like his classes. He uses a lot of big international words and, while they're in the books we use, not many understand him, and then they complain about his urge to "try to seem more intelligent by using big words".

What I tend to say is, "Too much syllables, didn't understand". After all, I could think that after studying four courses of psychology one should know who Freud was. If you don't know that, then it's hardly the teacher's fault, now is it?

Long story short, my favorite teacher is the man who makes me work hard and set my goals higher. And achieve them, too.

...damn it, I sound like I'm in love.

Many, many things.

PWP fics, for starters. A few years ago I didn't see the point of them - I was just skipping the dirty words and blushing when someone said "cock" and it kind of killed the mood. See, there was a time when I was a good girl. Shameless pimping, but slashpervert will blow your mind.

Then, action films. Years ago I'd watch action films with cars blowing up and huge guns and I'd be bored. Now? I watch them eagerly. I like cars, and I like guns and shooting, and the girls in the action films are generally hot. Just check my userpic. It's Keira Knightley...

...who, by the way, is the third number on the list. I had only seen a few of her movies - all three Pirates of the Caribbean movies and some other, can't remember the name - and I didn't think she was a particularly good actress. Yes, pretty, I guess, but nothing more. But then I watched Domino and I fell in love with Keira. Her acting, at least. She's gorgeous when she's not going for the girly look. Cigarettes, torn jeans, machine guns and bullet belts... oh, God.

Have to edit, because reading other users' answers gave me a few new ideas.

Facebook. Yes, I was against the entire Facebook thing, but then I kind of... ended up getting an account.
Twitter. "Who'd be interested in my daily life?" Now I have 21 followers, half of which I don't know, and I stay in touch with some people over Twitter. And besides, there's Tom Felton there! And his massaged bum!
Big Brother. There have been at least three Finnish seasons - might be more, I don't know - and I went on about how awful piece of crap the entire series is. Then I thought, "Oh well, now that there's a new season starting and all that jazz, I'm just gonna watch one episode and laugh at it and... OH MY GOD I LOVE THAT BOY WHO IS THAT I'M GOING TO HAVE TO WATCH THIS!" So, I watched because I loved this one boy, and then, when they kicked him out (because he threw a wine glass and blah blah blah, I'm still bitter) I quit. Haha.

I'm going to be narcissistic and tell you my own story, because it's... I don't know, worth telling. BECAUSE IT'S TEH FAIIIIITH.

So, me and my girlfriend met online. Not a dating site or anything like that, mind you.
I had this friend who was into Tokio Hotel, and as I am into fanfiction, I registered a Finnish Tokio Hotel forum just to read the fanfiction. At some point, I thought I'd write fics about them myelf, seeing that I've a long history of fic-writing. Then I thought I'd check their music and FOR REAL this time. I thought I'd listen to it for a while and see if I get an inspiration. However, as I liked the music, and I wrote fics, I became active at the forum instead of just lurking and reading the fics.
There was this one user whom I thought was a troll at first. Her nick was something alone the lines of 'Grammar Nazi' and I thought, "Oh well... a troll, that's what she is." And why? Because the forum was full of teenagers. If their native language was English, they'd write 'your' instead of 'you're' and they'd mess up 'there', 'their' ja 'they're' and so forth, and someone with a nick 'Grammar Nazi' just seemed like a... well, troll.
However, one day in August she added me on MSN, and we chatted, and we got along, and me, being the most awkward person EVER found out it was easy to talk to her. Month or so passed, and I had a crush on her - and we hadn't even met face to face yet. (Actually, we didn't meet REALLY until we had been together for two weeks.)
Anyhow, she was still in a relationship, but as some time passed, they broke up. I tried not to get my hopes up and so forth, but it really wasn't of use.
10th of November, and I told her I've a crush on her. 11th of November, and we got together. In the end of November she came here, and well, it's been a year and eight months now, of which we've been engaged for about a year.
People mightn't know what kind of music Tokio Hotel plays, but it's pop-rock-ish. Very unusual in my taste of music, where industrial dominates. What are the odds of meeting someone with the same taste of music (besides Tokio Hotel, we both like Marilyn Manson, Korn, KMFDM, Deathstars and so forth, but majority of those we've discovered together or through each other) on a forum that focuses on the music you usually don't like?
Ha, there are many things that might've gone differently. After all - there are two Finnish Tokio Hotel forums. Had my friend used the another, had I not become inspired, had I not liked the music, had I not accepted the add on MSN (at that point people were adding me just to be plain idiots, and I didn't accept many adds), had I not decided to be open with her... Geez.
No drama here, though.

...now why do I always write these loooooong answers to the Writer's block questions? How about a REAL entry next time? We shall see about that.

Which one would you most want to be bitten by?

View 513 Answers

GOD DAMN ANYONE BUT THAT DISGUSTING EDWARD THING OR ANOTHER MEYERPIRE. Vampires do not sparkle. If it sparkles, it is not a vampire. Kill it with fire. (I could write a 20-page rant about this.)

I have one vampire that I'd willingly give my blood to. Turn me into a vampire? Yes, if I can stay with him and terrorize the world and slay some Twitards. Insert here an evil laugh.
The one and only, Dracula. Bela Lugosi and Gary Oldman are both quite, umm, adorable as Dracula. See for yourself:

...I mean, come on, how can a teenage vampire whose only job in this world is to be SPARKLAAAYYYHHH ever be compared to something like that? That's not the very best picture of Bela as Dracula, but there aren't many good pictures. See the movie. Dracula, from the year 1931, and you'll know what vampires are all about.
Bela's death glare and Gary being almost overly dramatic... Oh, God. I also hate how Twitards say Edward is so ~romantic~ when he doesn't want to turn Bella into a vampire, but Gary's Dracula's pinky finger is more romantic than Edward.
I have crossed oceans of time to find you.
I... love you too much to condemn you.

Compared to our beloved overly bipolar "UUHHH I'M THE MONSTER YOU ARE MY LIFE NOW GO AWAY I'LL HURT YOU I LOVE YOU I WANT TO KILL YOU I DON'T HAVE THE STRENGTH TO STAY AWAY FROM YOU ANYMORE OH GAWWWD I'LL HURT YOU" -Edward, well.... I have nothing to say but Dracula > Edward. In every single way.
Also, the actors. Robert Pattinson looks like a foot and the chair I'm sitting on has more emotions than him.

(For Twilight fans on my friends list: the utter dislike I feel towards calling Edward & others vampires doesn't stop me from wanting to write about them, or reading about them. Meyer's writing isn't that good, the characters are too... cardboard-like for my liking, and the movie was just... staring and panting, basically.)

...oh. I ended up ranting about Twilight. That's what happens. (You know, somewhere online someone wrote about vampires fearing the sunlight and then some idiot replied: "Oh, I thought they only sparkle?" Hence the anger.)

How great, I even have a suitable userpic.

Now I'm off to dismember idiots. Including myself.

It depends on what kind of a music they usually listen to, but generally I'll just recommend KMFDM to everyone. Then, depending on if they like metal or pop or whatever, next come Korn (I'm gonna see them TOMORROW), Marilyn Manson, VNV Nation, Brian Head Welch and Travis Bicle.
And then, finally, everyone gets to hear how amazing Relicon is. First I was just going to say The Pirate Bay, but technically I'm downloading torrents from there, not listening to music there. Whatever.

Last.fm is great - though I hate how it still recommend some emo shit to me because I listened to one My Chemical Romance song two years ago and it was scrobbled. Why, why?

Then there's YouTube, my #1 way of finding songs I want to hear. I also download videos from YouTube.

MySpace, VampireFreaks, Mikseri.net and various bands' own websites also rock my socks.
First of all, Severus Snape. I have known about LJ since... well, since we got Internet at home, I guess. First I just checked this out - had no interest in starting to write about my life because hey, I was a normal junior high student, who could possibly care?

Then a classmate of mine got an account and she told me all good things about LJ. There are many, actually.

A book... well, Twilight. I usually like books with vampires but that book... is full of epic fail.
Movie? I don't know. Probably Twilight or Titanic.
Band... umm, Metallica. I've never actually fallen in love with them. There are a few songs I listen to - Enter Sandman, for example - but nothing more.
When it comes to food, I'm going to have to say potatoes. I can't stand them.
Probably on of the most popular TV shows in Finland nowadays is Pasila, a stupid comedy show which everyone seems to love. Which do you think is likely to end us all: meteorite, global warming, nuclear weapons, zombies, or the superflu?

View 502 Answers

Zombie apocalypse, oh yeah! Just remember to shoot them in the head and not trust anyone but yourself. I found an online test about surviving a zombie apocalypse and I'd survive.

A freaky part of me wants something that'd make anyone wear gas masks.

No, to be honest - I think it's a race. Almost all of those are possible - meteorites swoop around us all the time, global warming seems to be true (even though stuff like that has happened many, many times), nuclear weapons are everywhere and people are stupid, superflu is amongst us as we speak. The swine flu thing is exaggerated but many diseases are currently forming in the moist and hot places of this world, or in the cold places like Lapland.
The point is, meteorites, global warming, nuclear weapons and superflu are just competing. Which will be the one to wipe out all humankind? Or meteorites would probably kill everything - the nature will survive global warming and nuclear war somehow. Men won't.
